General Summary

ILM is seeking positive, energetic, highly organized, and detailed oriented individuals to help meet our clients’ goals by maintaining their lakes, ponds, and natural areas.  All successful candidates must possess the determination to grow both professionally and personally as well as be able to work independently.  All work is outdoors and executed year-round.  Some travelling is possible and periodic weekend work is required.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Set and prepare job sites for excavation and other projects.
  • Follow construction plan and follow directives from the Construction Manager.
  • Lead environmental construction projects including dredging, excavating, shoreline stabilization, and flood remediation.
  • Assist other departments and learn other skills as needed to support ILM clients.
  • Communicate job progress both verbally and with daily written reports.
  • Able to work independently and as a team

Essential Job Functions

  • Arrive to work at your designated start time ready to work
  • Operate construction machinery in a safe and efficient manner, including but not limited to skid steers, excavators, and specialized dredging equipment used for environmental and aquatic restoration projects.
  • Operate company trucks, equipment, and boats.
  • Ensure your time is being accurately recorded daily.
  • Photo-document work performed and provide thorough written documentation of daily activities.
  • Standing, sitting, kneeling, and walking for long periods of time and the ability to lift 50lbs. without assistance.
  • Perform physical labor outdoors requiring strength and endurance in all types of weather and terrain.
  • Lead and coordinate the ordering and delivery of job related supplies and materials.

Type

Full Time-Year-Round

Hours

40-60 hours per week with general hours of operation 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Salary & Benefits

  • $26 – $40 per hour based on experience
  • 401K eligibility after 60 days of employment with company match of 50%
  • Health/ Dental/ Vision eligibility after 60 days of employment – we offer 3 medical plans (HMO and PPO options)
  • Paid Vacation and Sick – earned on an accrual basis and based on years of service

Qualifications

  • 21 years of age or older and must have a valid state driver’s license. Driving record must meet the minimum requirements of our insurance company.
  • Have a basic understanding of ILM’s purpose and support our mission to the environment.
  • Be familiar with the safe operation and transportation of a variety of equipment both on and off the road.
  • Ability to perform physical labor outdoors, requiring strength and endurance in all types of weather and terrain and being able to lift to 50lbs without assistance.
  • Knowledgeable in the safe and effective use of hand tools and power equipment, including chainsaws, brush cutters, and similar vegetation management tools.
  • Ability and willingness to adapt to a wide variety of duties and responsibilities.
  • Act and look professional while representing ILM.
  • Class A CDL is desired but not required.

Experience

Some experience in Soil and Water Conservation, Ecological Restoration, Conservation, or Environmental/Biological Science is preferred.
